Castle of Duras
Overlooking the valley of Dropt, in the heart of Lot-et-Garonne, the Château de Duras crossed the history of France. Atypical monument it mixes Middle-Age, XVIIth century and Revolution. Since its purchase by the Duras town hall in 1969 the castle lives to the rhythm of restoration work.

Building built on an eminence according to a U-shaped plan. A main building formed of a central body intended to pass towards the interior court, is cantoned of two wings of house. The whole is built on a level of basement welcoming kitchen, bakery and reserves. Commons are backed by a wall to the north. This 17th century castle was abandoned during the 20th century, and the East wing used as a stone quarry.

Castle of the late sixteenth century, which seems to have had a drawbridge. Currently, a stone bridge spans the ditches. The entrance facade has double mullion openings. In the inner courtyard, the main building is back square elongated. Staircase wrought iron seventeenth century. Painted ceilings of the same period.

Today the castle is private. It is visited in summer and due to the renovation and construction of furnished and equipped housing districts, the visit circuit can be modified.
Romanesque Church Notre Dame
The Church of Monteton is registered in the inventory of Historical Monuments since 1926. The apse is preceded by a vaulted choir vault. The nave has four spans covered with a cradle broken hanger, and is reinforced by doubleaux. The builders arranged the buttresses inside the nave and connected them by arcades. © Historical monuments base Merimee Architecture. This church is an old protestant temple built in the sixteenth or early seventeenth century as can still be seen in its triangular pediment and the facade of the building. In 1685 the temple became officially parish church under the name of St. Mary Magdalene. Originally without steeple, it is on one of the gateways of the village, the door of the clock, a few meters, that rings the only bell of the village.

The Romanesque bridge, which spans the river Dropt, is a listed monument dating from the twelfth and thirteenth centuries and whose particularity is to have 23 arches including 11 Romanesque and 12 Gothic. The stone cross, in its center, served as a reference for pilgrims joining Saint Jacques de Compostela. To discover during a walk in the village of La Sauvetat-du-Dropt.

In summer, discover the village: during the course, we retrace the history, from its creation to the present day. In particular the exterior of the Saint-Eutrope church, the carreyro, the rue Deluns-Montaud, the indoor hall, the wash house, the Dropt (its navigation and its floods), the evolution of agriculture in the valley, the castle, the plum hall and the dovecote.
